Lisa Garcia is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. She has more that 13 years of experience providing ongoing and crisis intervention services primarily with individual adults of all ages and families in mental health settings, as well as with seniors and their families in healthcare and residential settings. .Lisa received her Masters's in Social Work from the University of Maryland in 1997.

Marcie Cohen, LCSW-C
Marcie Cohen obtained her Master of Social Work Degree from The Catholic University of America in 1998. She has been a Maryland Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW-C) since 2004 and has held a Certified School Social Worker Pupil Personnel licensure in Virginia since 2006. Ms. Cohen recently obtained a trauma certification through the Institute for Advanced Psychotherapy, Training, and Education in December 2012.

While Ms. Cohen has worked in a variety of clinical settings including community-based mental health, hospital, residential treatment, she has mainly worked in two major school systems in Maryland and Virginia, providing individual and group counseling services to students with emotional disabilities, learning disabilities, impulse-control difficulties, and students with Autism Spectrum Disorders. Ms.Cohen also communicates with these students' families, teachers, and other outside of school service providers on a continuous basis and through the local screening/Special Education process as an IEP team member. Ms. Cohen also became certified to provide the evidence-based Cognitive Behavioral Treatment for Trauma in the Schools (CBITS) to students who have endured and survived traumatic experiences in their lives.

Ms. Cohen has also worked as a part-time private practitioner since 2004 serving older children, adolescents, and adults struggling with depression, anxiety, grief, low self-esteem, social skills difficulties, and other planned and unplanned life adjustments such as divorce, death, or other abrupt departures from loved ones.

Melissa Gatlin has 20 years of therapeutic experience with children and adults.  She has worked with Child and Adult Protective Services, the Reginald Lourie Center for Infants and Young Children (serving the Montgomery County Infants and Toddlers Program), and the YMCA/Linkages to Learning Program.  In addition to providing child and family therapy, she has provided parent coaching, classroom consultation, and support at IEP/504 meetings. She also provides consultation to private schools and day cares to support optimal classroom functioning.  She earned her Master’s Degree in Social Work from University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and has been an LCSW since 1995. She earned a Certification in Early Childhood Mental Health from the University of Maryland Department of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry and is a member of the National Association of Social Workers.Melissa's approach is comprehensive and holistic, including psychotherapy, relaxation techniques, cognitive behavioral therapy, parent-coaching, attachment work and family therapy with special attention to each child's developmental stage and unique personality.

Erica Werfel is a therapist who will start from where you or your child are at, and help you to reach your goals. She has a decade of experience working with preschoolers, children, preteens, adolescents, and adults in a variety of settings, including short- and long-term psychotherapy as well as Children's National Medical Center's outpatient weight management program and a successful evidence-based after school program for children with serious emotional and behavioral disturbances. She works with a variety of issues, including depression, anxiety, trauma, social skills, irritability, outbursts, experiences of bullying, divorce/separation of parents, ADHD, and high functioning autism. She specialize using creative methods and experiential mindfulness strategies to help children and adolescents who are struggling to use words to understand, process, and express their emotions. Vanessa Siemens is a Licensed Graduate Social Worker with the State of Maryland. She received her Masters in Social Work from University of Maryland, Baltimore with a clinical concentration, specializing in children and families. Vanessa has experience working in child welfare in the adoptions unit with birth families, children, adolescents, and adoptive families. She is also a registered instructor with the Professional Association of Therapeutic Horsemanship, International. She currently teaches therapeutic horse riding lessons at Maryland Therapeutic Riding Center in Crownsville, MD.

Rick Weissinger, MSRD
Rick has 25 years of experience in teaching weight management to individuals and groups. His specialty is integrating knowledge of nutrition, metabolism, exercise, psychology and endocrinology into weight loss. Rick teaches patients what foods to eat, why to eat these, how to make these taste good, and which habits and attitudes need to be acquired in order to lose weight and keep it off. His books include What the Experts Say About Food and Cancer and Nutrition Guide for Clinicians.   

Haroldo Drachenberg, M.D.

Haroldo Drachenberg, M.D., is a Child, Adolescent, and Adult Psychiatrist in full time practice for over 20 years. After a period of various academic and faculty positions at the University of Maryland Medical System, Dr. Drachenberg founded and became the medical director of Olney Psychiatric & Counseling Center (OCC) until 2008 where he continues to maintain his private practice, and in Bethesda.  It is at OCC that Dr. Drachenberg, along with other mental health professionals, provides individual, family, group, and couples counseling to Baltimore and Washington D.C. areas.  Dr. Drachenberg completed training at the Mayo Clinic under the pioneers of psychopharmacogenomic applications in psychiatric clinical practice.  He has performed pharmacogenomic testing on more than 700 patients.  Dr. Drachenberg has become an expert in the field of translating this cutting edge biotechnology into practical decision-making in the choice of pharmacological agents. Dr. Drachenberg uses this information to analyze how a patient's genes may affect his/her metabolism and responses to FDA-approved medicines commonly prescribed to treat neuropsychiatric disorders and chronic pain.  This testing provides an objective and personalized approach to treatment.  Patients whose treatment was guided by this testing experienced a 70% reduction in depressive symptoms.  These results have been replicated in several published studies and are supported by two world renowned medical centers, the Mayo Clinic and Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center.  At this time over 80,000 patients have undergone this testing. Dr. Drachenberg feels strongly that Pharmacogenomic Testing, Medication Management and Psychotherapy can provide you with personalized treatment that will allow for the best possible treatment outcomes.
